[WHITE SAGE] is antimicrobial and the smudging benefits including killing bacteria and pathogens in the air. The burning of sage is also commonly used ceremoniously to clear negative energy and spiritual impurities.
Smudging can also ease tension, lift your mood, and relieve stress.
What is smudging?
DEFINITION: smoke created from burning medicinal or sacred plants
TRADITION: Smudging is a ceremony for purifying or cleansing the soul of negative thoughts of a person or place. There are four elements involved in a smudge:
- The container, traditionally a shell representing water, is the first element.
- The four sacred plants (cedar, sage, sweetgrass, tobacco), gifts from mother earth, represent the second element.
- The fire produced from lighting the sacred plants represents the third element.
- The smoke produced from the fire represents air, the fourth element.
[PALO SANTO] is an ancient tree that grows on the coast of South America and is related to frankincense, myrrh, and copal. In Spanish, the name literally means “holy wood”.
How to use: light one end of the stick and allow to burn for 30 seconds, then blow out. Move about your workspace, home, car, bathroom, or anywhere you would like to clean the air and clear the energy.
Palo Santo sticks are sustainable sourced, hand-cut to appox. 4" and come individually packaged in a corked glass vial with description and directions for use.
